A unique part of UT is our unwavering Longhorn spirit. The university is developing policies and procedures for hosting football games and other athletics events this fall aligned with state, local and Big 12 Conference health and safety guidelines. Health and safety are our top priority, and all scenarios are currently being considered. UT expects to narrow the scenarios under consideration by the first week of August.

Comprehensive policies and procedures with stringent sets of health and safety guidelines have been established to safely return student-athletes, essential coaches and staff to campus. Guidance for Student-Athlete Return to Campus and Resumption of Training

Mandatory physicals, COVID-19 testing and COVID-19 safety education/training conducted by UT’s Sports Medicine staff are required prior to beginning voluntary workouts for football student-athletes.

Daily screenings and safety protocols continue during the ongoing football voluntary workouts. Voluntary workouts are being conducted outside at the Frank Denius Practice Complex in small groups, and all activities are closely monitored by the Sports Medicine and Strength & Conditioning staff.
